Madysen Jo Simmons, age 8, of Langston, Oklahoma passed away December 13, 2011 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. She was born on June 4, 2003 in Fort Worth, Texas to Joseph and Cheresa (Diggs) Simmons.

Madysen was raised in Langston, she attended Coyle Elementary School, was a member and baptized at Life Church. She was an honor roll student, cheerleader for competition squad Cheers and More, member of Girl Scouts, a "Little Lion" and danced at 'Dance with Me" dance studios.
She enjoyed singing, dancing and entertaining. She was always the center of attention, some may call her a "diva." She was a good student, well liked by her peers and a joy to be around. She was known to be a mother to her brothers and keeping everyone in line.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving parents, Joseph and Cheresa Simmons; brothers Michael Diggs, Joseph Simmons, Houston Simmons of Langston, Oklahoma and sister Heaven Simmons of Fort Worth, Texas; grandparents Sharon Wray-Smith and Richard Smith, Venita Simmons; great grandparents Samuel and Noweta Ealy, Emma Murphy; Uncle Derrel (Gwenita) Simmons, all of Fort Worth, Texas, aunt Yasmin (Enoch) Jackson of Langston, Oklahoma and host of great uncles, aunts, cousins, family and close friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Houston Simmons, Jr. and great grandfathers David Wray II and Sidney Murphy, Jr.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the I.W. Young Auditorium, Langston University, Langston, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hayes Funeral Home, 117 E. Noble, Guthrie, OK. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
