U.S. VeteranJoe W. Triplett, Age 81, went to be with our heavenly Father on Thursday, March 15, 2012. He passed away at the V.A. Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after his battle with cancer. He was born on September 4, 1930 in Guthrie to Joseph and Ruby (Winchester) Triplett.

Joe was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1953. He was past commander of the Guthrie V.F.W., a life member of the Moose Lodge and was a 32 degree mason. Joe was an avid hunter, loved taking care of his cows and also loved to dance. He owned and operated Triplett General Contracting for many years.

Joe is survived by his wife Dorothy, two sons, Dan Triplett (Sharon) and Ron Triplett (Nicky) both of Guthrie. Step-son Jesse McCracken (Diane) of Meridian;
step-daughter Ladonna Smith (Tommy) of Arlington, TX; two brothers, Melvin Triplett (Connie) and Lloyd Triplett (Joy) both of Guthrie; two sisters, Erlene Triplett of Guthrie and Marge Naill of Ft. Morton, CO; sister-in-law Connie Dodd of Jacksonville, FL; brother-in-law R.L. Dodd (Opal).

Services will be on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Hayes Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Gene Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery, Guthrie.

Visitation will be Monday March 19 from 9:00 AM till 8:00 PM.
