Alvin Lamar Parkman, 90, of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on February 28, 2024. He was born on October 4, 1933, in Comanche, Texas to Burton and Lillian (Renfro) Parkman.

Alvin was a proud Navy veteran where he received both a Medal of Conduct and a National Defense Service Medal.

On October 20, 1957, Alvin married Judy Mitchell and to this union three children were born: Diana, Daniel, and Billy.

Alvin enjoyed playing the guitar and his harmonica and going golfing. He was a problem solver and loved building things.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Judy, daughter Diana Murray and husband Jim of Ashville, North Carolina, son Daniel Nathan Parkman of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and son Billy Parkman and wife Rhonda of Guthrie. Alvin is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents Burton and Lillian Parkman, two sisters, and one brother.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at the Noble Avenue Baptist Church (1219 W. Noble Ave., Guthrie, OK 73044) with Pastor Brian Frank officiating. Burial will follow at Summit View Cemetery.
