Billy Joe Knox, age 54, of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on September 21, 2014, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from injuries recieved in a motorcycle accident. He gave the gift of life as an organ donor. Billy was born on June 30, 1960 in Morse Mill, Missouri to Charles J. and Jeraldine (Blount) Knox.

Billy married Shirley Woodcock on December 1, 1979 in Morse Mill, Missouri. They moved to Guthrie in 1981. He attended Bible Baptist Church, enjoyed riding motorcycles, riding horses with his granddaughter, spending time with family and watching wrestling on television.

Survivors include his wife Shirley of the home in Guthrie, daughter Jenny "Jen" Knox of Guthrie, step son Vince Murphy of Guthrie, sister Patsy McBride and husband Jack of Edmond, 3 brothers, Jimmy Knox and wife Kim of Guthrie, Jackie Knox, Sr. and wife Shelly of Carney and Jeffery Knox of Guthrie, his granddaughter Jennifer Ann Knox and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Johnnie Knox.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM, on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Bible Baptist Church with Brother Robbie Robbins officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
