Cecil Dean Brooks, age 69 of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on July 20, 2023, in Edmond. Cecil was born on September 9, 1953, in Chickasha to Charley and Augusta (Lietzke) Brooks.

Cecil married Vesta McNulty on May 7, 2010, in Orlando, Oklahoma. They had called Guthrie home for the last 13 years. Cecil loved working in his garden, tending to his chickens, fishing, and going to Broken Bow for vacation. Cecil had a special place in his heart for his turkey named Big Un and his white cats named Sh*thead and Burgeroo.

Survivors include his wife Vesta, brother Richard Brooks and wife Janice, sister Nina Shipley and husband Dennis, sister Barbara Pearson and husband Darrell, brother-in-law Richard McNulty, brother-in-law Jimmy McNulty and wife Donna, sister-in-law Ramona Poupard and husband Gary, sister-in-law Ruth Eckenstein, and sister-in-law Gwen McNulty. Cecil is also survived by the Graham family of Lone Grove that he adopted as part of his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald Brooks, and brother-in-law Ed Eckenstein.
