C.J. "Jake" Egelston, age 86 of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on March 24, 2020 in Guthrie. He was born on March 20, 1934 in Crescent, Oklahoma to Cleveland and Elsie (Rains) Egelston.

Jake graduated from Crescent High School. On May 27, 1956 he married Vina Davidson and in August of 1956 he joined the United States Army.

Survivors include is wife Vina Egelston of Guthrie, daughter Debbie Murray and husband Steve of Edmond, son Jeff Egelston and wife Kristi of Guthrie; grandchildren Amber Egelston-Jones, Cody Murray and wife Natalie, Shylia Egelston-Eales and husband Matt, and Brooke Egelston; great grandchildren Tate Jones, Evan and Jack Murray, and Coleman and Ellison Eales. Jake was preceded in death by his parents Cleveland and Elsie Egelston, seven sisters, and two brothers.

A public memorial service will be held at a later date. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
