Darla Kae Courtright was taken from us on February 17, 2023 at the age of 64. She was born January 7, 1959 to Max and Darlene Warren (Silvers). Her little sister and best friend for life, Debbie Jan, was born two years later. Darla was born and raised in Guthrie, Oklahoma and graduated from Guthrie High School in 1977.
Darla was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She loved her family fiercely and was most proud of her six grandchildren. They were truly her world. She took care of the oldest two from their birth until starting school, and was still taking care of the youngest at the time of her passing. She looked most forward to family gatherings, especially 89er's day weekend and Christmas, when she would make the best pumpkin pie and spoil her grandkids. Other than spending time with her family, she loved snuggling with her fur babies and driving the gator all over the farm.
Darla had the most caring soul. We often joked that she loved animals more than people. She was constantly sharing lost dog posts on Facebook and once even saved an injured baby deer on the side of the road. She truly had the biggest heart and dedicated her life to caring for others.
Darla was preceded in death by her mother, Darlene, as well as three babies born silent, Kenneth, Austin, and Trevor. She is survived by her husband, Michael Courtright of Guthrie, Oklahoma; daughters, Ashley Harris Hebensperger and husband Joel of Guthrie, Oklahoma, and their three daughters Ava, Emry, and Quinn; Ashton Laughlin Grant and husband Tyler of Syracuse, Utah, and their three children Jhett, Harper, and Addilyn; her father Max Warren of Guthrie, Oklahoma; sister Debbie Robertson and husband Curtis of Edmond, Oklahoma; and her four nieces whom she loved as her own, Kami, Kari, Shelbi, and Kaci, as well as several other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Darla is also survived by her fur babies: Winston and Ozzy.
Darla's celebration of life will be held Thursday, February 23rd at 2:00 P.M. at Community Church in Guthrie with graveside services to follow at Summit View Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 9:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 22nd at Hayes Funeral Home.
