Dennis Alan
Chrisman
Jul 20, 1946 — Oct 16, 2026
Dennis Alan Chrisman, 80, passed away surrounded by his family on October 15, 2026 – the final deadline of the tax year, naturally. He was born on July 20, 1946, in Dallas, Oregon, to Gardner Frank and Mona Ferne Chrisman. He is also survived by his brother, Gary Chrisman.
Dennis spent his childhood in rural Kansas working several jobs in the farming industry. He was drafted while attending the University of Kansas to Vietnam and served honorably seeing combat from 1970-1971. Upon returning home, he moved to Oklahoma City to find a new start to his life. After several difficult years, he met his wife of almost 45 years – Kimberlee (Truitt) Chrisman. At 17 years his junior, Dennis married her as quickly as possible within a few months of meeting. He felt that with his wife and following children, he'd found God's purpose. He spent the entirety of the rest of his life devoted to his wife, kids, and grandchildren as his greatest source of joy, purpose, and pleasure.
Dennis came to know Jesus after his marriage and immediately recognized God's protection and guidance throughout his life. He devoted himself to sharing his faith and God's love with his family and everyone he met. He ended most interactions with a famous hug and "Do you know Jesus?".
Dennis made it a priority to be present in his family's lives. He attended games, recitals, competitions, doctor's appointments, presentations, meetings, and nearly any other event involving his children or grandchildren. No matter how ordinary or important the occasion, he was there—usually smiling from somewhere in the crowd, then whistling to make his presence known. He asked very little of those he loved and found his greatest joy simply in being near his family. The absence of his steady presence will weigh heavily on those he left behind.
Dennis owned a local accounting firm and served other small-business owners for over 40 years. He served his clients faithfully, always caring more about the individual than the numbers. He often felt that his clients were his friends. He loved getting to know them, their families, and always cared deeply about their personal success. He was known throughout his community for his selflessness and treating all people regardless of their background as a treasure with importance.
Dennis leaves behind his beloved wife, Kimberlee; his son, Ryan, and wife, Morgan, and their sons, Kaiser and Colby; his daughter, Lindsay, and her children, Lily, Luke, and Lane; his daughter, Torie, and husband, Ben, and their children, Arden, Gus, and Tommy; and his youngest daughter and devoted caretaker, Chloe.
