Thomas Dwane Sorrell, age 56, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away February 27, 2014 at his home. He was born December 18, 1957 in Thayer, Missouri to Thomas E. and Myrtle (Gaines) Sorrell.

Dwane graduated in 1976 from Couch High School in Couch, Missouri. He was a former FFA President and enjoyed farming and livestock. Dwane married Connie Miles on October 15, 1977. He was a member of the Church of God in Guthrie. Family was his priorty. He was self employed and took great pride in the quality of his steel building construction. He also enjoyed raising Rottweilers and German Shepards.

Survivors include his wife Connie of the home in Edmond, his parents Thomas and Myrtle Sorrell of Guthrie, his children Lyndall Sorrell of Edmond, Susan Cole and husband Douglas of Granby, MO, Jennifer Sorrell of Guthrie, Kevin Sorrell and wife Kimberly of Edmond, Gerald Sorrell and wife Erika of Oklahoma City and Darlene Sorrell of the home. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kandis, Kurtis and Adelyn, two sisters Marie Benson and husband Earl of Guthrie, Martha Zacharias and husband Ron of Spooner, WI one brother Dale Sorrell and wife Lisa of Guthrie and a double cousin, David Gaines of Guthrie. He was preceded in death by two children Vickie and Rodney.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Church of God, 304 Lakeview Avenue, in Guthrie with Brother Phillip Gellenbeck, Brother Dan Doolittle and Brother Carl Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery in Guthrie. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
