L. Fern Mooney was born on July 10, 1938, in Eminence, Missouri to Raymond and Delphia (Warren) Mooney. Fern passed away on December 25, 2021, in Guthrie at the age of 83.

Fern had been living in Guthrie for the last 60 years and moved here from Pratt, Kansas. She retired as a nurse's aide in 1988. She loved having fun and she loved her friends dearly.

Survivors include her daughter Gail Baker and husband Chris of Guthrie, daughter Phyllis Peak and husband Sam of Wellston, brother Roger Mooney of Guthrie, eight grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Fern was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Delphia Mooney, infant daughter Shelia, sister Verna Mae Eaton, and brother Richard Mooney.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery with Chaplain Gene Owen officiating.

Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
