Fernando Zapata Ramirez was born on May 30, 1951, in Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, and passed away peacefully on September 14, 2024, in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

In May 2024, Fernando relocated to Guthrie, Oklahoma, from California. A devoted boxing enthusiast, he followed the sport passionately and had the privilege of witnessing many renowned boxers throughout his life. He also enjoyed playing pool at the senior center, watching fútbol, working on epoxy projects, journaling, and listening to rock and roll music.

He is survived by his daughter Sandra Zapata of Virginia, his son Fernando Zapata of El Paso, Texas, his sisters Elsa Orozco (married to Alfaro Orozco) of Edmond, Oklahoma, Elda Zapata of Los Angeles, California, and Rosaura Zapata of San Antonio, Texas, his brother Jorge Zapata (married to Elia Zapata) of Fort Worth, Texas, as well as his grandchildren Cesar Grado and Stephanie Zapata, and great-great-grandchild Ayla Zapata.

A private family service will be held.
