Georgia Mae Dodd was born August 25, 1928 in Crescent, Oklahoma to George and Hassie Herren. She went home to her Heavenly Father on October 9, 2019.

Georgia married Fred Taunton in March of 1953. She then became a very loving mother to Glenda and James. In 1972 she married Bill Dodd and was married to him close to 30 years before he left to be with the Lord.

Georgia loved being mom, grandma, and great grandma. Then when great great came along she was so proud of having five generations.

Loving the Lord was her first passion, but loving children with a very special kind of love was her close second. Georgia was known as grandma, grandma-babysitter, granny Dodd and mema to many, many adopted grandchildren. Georgia loved baking for family and friends. She was known for her special cookies and yum yum cake.

Georgia is survived by her daughter Glenda Taunton Jarnagin, son James Taunton and wife Beverly, four grandchildren, Jason Jarnagin and wife Jamie, Ginger Jarnagin Liles and husband James, Tyler Taunton, Trey Taunton and wife Rena, nine great grandchildren, Austin Jarnagin and wife Sierra, Raigan Liles, Colby Jarnagin, Cooper Jarnagin, Jett Liles, Cayson Liles, Brooklyn Taunton, Tanner Taunton and Blaze Liles and one great great grandson Hunter Jarnagin, one stepson Johnny Dodd and family along with many adopted family. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hassie Herren, three brothers, Willie, Basil, and Jay, one sister Rachel, and her husband Bill Dodd.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, October 14, 2019 at the Hayes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Sunday at Hayes Funeral Home from 12:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
