Ida May Forsythe, age 74 of Harlingen, Texas passed away December 29, 2017 in Harlingen, Texas. She was born on April 3, 1943 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Elvin and Hildreth (Miller) Rogers.

Ida attended Guthrie High School. She married Lloyd Forsythe on January 13, 1962 at the First Baptist Church in Guthrie. She lived in Harlingen, Texas for the past 25 years and previously lived in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Ida enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Elks Club.

Survivors include her three children, Sonia Goines and husband Troy of Tyler, TX, Sheila Forsythe Pavon of Harlingen, TX and Mary Eckerson and husband Matthew of Republic, MO. She is also survived by her brother Eugene Rogers and wife Louise of Guthrie, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Ida was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd on April 14, 2016, and 2 brothers James and Kenneth Rogers.

Services will be held at 10:00 on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel with Theresa Casper officiating. Burial will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held of Friday from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
