Jarrel Lloyd Hibbs, age 91 of Newcastle, Oklahoma passed away April 4, 2020. He was born on April 19, 1928 in Paden, Oklahoma to Allen Clayton and Elsie May (Parsons) Hibbs.

Jarrel enlisted in the U.S. Naval Service on December 12, 1945. He served on the USNAF in Attu, Alaska, the U.S.S. Iowa and U.S.S. Columbus. He received a World War II Victory Medal, a China Service Medal, and an Occupied Service Medal.

Jarrel married Claudine Thompson on September 6, 1971 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jarrel retired from Fleming Company and later worked at TG & Y. Jarrel and Claudine were partners in F&H Grocery Outlet in Guthrie from 1980 until 1987. Jarrel was a member of the Guthrie VFW Sooner Post 4578.

Survivors include his son Bobby Joe Hibbs of California and son Frank Hibbs of Newcastle, stepdaughter Sandy Cleary of Edmond, sister Betty Ann Foster of Guthrie, brother John Hibbs of Waynoka and numerous grandchildren. Jarrel was preceded in death by his wife Claudine in 2000, son James Hibbs, parents Allen and Elsie Hibbs, brothers Carrol, Louis, Glen, and Allen, sister Joyce, brother-in-law and business partner Carrel Foster, and daughter-in-law Kathy Hibbs.

A private family service will be held and at a later date a memorial service will be held. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 from 9:00 AM Until 7:00 PM.
