J.L. Dye, age 91 of Crescent, Oklahoma passed away on September 21, 2020 in Crescent. J.L. was born on September 15, 1929 to Everette and Audie Mae (Langston) Dye in Tulsa County, Oklahoma.`

J.L. married Shirley Charvoz on April 29, 1955 at Harmony Church in Guthrie. He worked as an independent contractor as a metal lather and was a member of the Carpenters Union. J.L. enjoyed reading, square dancing and making jewelry. He lived in Crescent most of his life and attended the Poplar and Warner Church of Christ in Guthrie.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years Shirley of the home in Crescent, his five children, Jerry Dye and wife Barbara of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeannie West and husband Donnie of Guthrie, Karen Stetler and husband Larry of Oklahoma City, Danny Dye and wife Robyn of Guthrie and J.L. Dye, Jr. and husband James of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by his brother Everett Dye and wife Pat of San Diego, CA, nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. J.L. was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother Genivive (Pope) Dye, four sisters and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, September 25, 2020 at the Poplar and Warner Church of Christ in Guthrie with Charlie Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Crescent Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 9:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Hayes Funeral Home.
