John  Louis McMahan, age 78, of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away April 26, 2014 in Okahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born on July 23, 1935 in Guthrie to William and Lillie (Ashpaugh) McMahan.

John previously lived in California and moved to Guthrie in 2006. John was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a Mason and belonged to the Iron Workers Union.

Survivors include his daughter  Ella Smith and husband Terry of Seminole, OK, son Michael Hammette and wife Debra of Jacksonville, FL, 5 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, special friend Dorothy Johnson and his beloved dog Skipper. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Jovina.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Summit View Cemetery with Chaplain Gene Owen officiating. Services are under the direction on Hayes Funeral Home.
