Larry Matthew Hangas, age 72, of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away June 7, 2015 in Guthrie. He was born on July 26, 1942 in Littlefield, Texas. His parents were Matt Hanges and Mary Elizabeth Robinson.

Larry was a Veteran of the United States Navy, a Vietnam Vet and P.O.W. He was a self employed building contractor. Larry had lived in Guthrie the past 15 years and previously lived in Socorro, New Mexico.
He married Jamie Honaker on March 7, 1990 in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was a member of the Guthrie Seventh Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed Primitive Firearms and the outdoors and was a member of the N.R.A.

Survivors include his wife Jamie of the home in Guthrie, daughter Mary Elizabeth Hangas of Socorro, NM, son Eric N. Hangas of Guthrie, step daughter Dorie Teeters of Washington, sister Glenda Cameron and husband Cliff of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Esmeralda, Raini, Dakota, Salena and Ignacio.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1624 W. Noble, Guthrie with Pastor Stan Buckmaster officiating. Arrangement by Hayes Funeral Home.
