The bright light that was Leland Dennis was extinguished on October 11, 2023, after a brief illness. Leland possessed an amazing zest for life, a man who lived and loved with absolute intention.

He was born in Enid, Oklahoma on November 9, 1957. He had many fond childhood memories of days on his grandparents' farm in Woodward, Oklahoma. Leland worked his way through his education, becoming a well-known, respected and caring psychiatrist, graduating from Duke University. Many people often remarked that he had been given a gift for caring and compassion and was selfless in helping others.

Leland was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend. He embraced everyone and every project with enthusiasm. He always had welcoming arms, and a ready smile. Weekends could find him clad in overalls, working on one of his many projects. He was a man of many talents.

He leaves behind his wife Deborah, as well as numerous friends and family. He was preceded in death by his adored daughter, Haviva.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He will remain eternally in our hearts.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Hayes Funeral Home, at 11:00 am.
