Mary Ellen Stewart, long time beauty operator and lifetime Logan county resident, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 92. She was born on July 29, 1927 in Crescent, Oklahoma to Albert and Sadie (Dodd) Eitson.

Mary married Outher Eugene Stewart in 1944 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was a member of the West Guthrie United Methodist Church and had been a local VFW Auxiliary member. Mary worked at a number of different beauty shops around Guthrie and used her gravy making skills for the local Groundhog Dinner for many years.

Survivors include her children Rodney Stewart and wife Jane of Guthrie, Renee Riebe of Edmond, Ranelle Huston and husband Doug of Edmond and Ray Stewart of Guthrie; grandchildren Gregg Stewart and wife Dawniel, Lesley Cotton and husband Jason, Brenda Duncan and husband Heath; and sisters Sylvia Ochs of Guthrie and Darla Wilson and husband Victor of Guthrie. Mary is also survived by eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Outher, son Randy Stewart, infant daughter Patricia Ellen Stewart and her brothers John, Wesley, Jim and Mike Eitson

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, August 9, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Guthrie. Interment will follow at Seward Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Hayes Funeral Home.
