Michael Shane Denney, 74, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away on January 28, 2026. He was born on August 7, 1951, in Wichita, Kansas, to A.R. and Wanda (Harper) Denney. Michael spent much of his life working as a self-employed brick mason, a trade that reflected his independent nature and strong work ethic. In 2012, he moved to Guthrie.

Michael enjoyed playing pool and valued the quieter, simple moments in life. Those who knew him understood that he walked his own path and lived life on his own terms.

Survivors include his children Sara Hines and husband Greg and Shane Denney and wife Jennifer; brothers: Skip and Keith Denney; and nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
