Obituary

Naomi Faye Percell, 91, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Naomi was born on September 12, 1934, in Urich, Missouri, to Thomas Shulse and Edna (Teasley) Shulse. She grew up in Urich and graduated from Urich High School before beginning a life marked by hard work, faith, and quiet devotion to those around her.

Throughout her life, Naomi worked in a sewing factory and in several greenhouses, where she found joy in both her work and the beauty of growing things. She was a longtime member of Full Gospel Fellowship Church and faithfully served her church family by playing the piano for many years. Her music was a gift to her congregation and a reflection of the faith that guided her life.

Naomi will be remembered for her steadfast spirit, her dedication to her church, and the kindness she shared with family and friends throughout her long life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Edna Shulse; her two husbands; and her sister, Olive May Gibson.

Naomi is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish her memory and carry her legacy forward.

Though she has left this earthly life, the love she shared, the music she played, and the faith she lived by will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hayes Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Hayes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Lawrie Cemetery in Guthrie.
