Robert Allen Burton, MD (Bob) age 73, of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on June 14, 2022, in Guthrie at his home. He was born on December 3, 1948, in Shenandoah, Iowa to Howard and Mildred Burton.

Bob graduated from Bethany High School in 1967, before joining the United States Air Force. He served two years at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas and also in Germany. Upon returning to Oklahoma, Bob attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman and graduated in1978 with a doctorate in medicine. Bob had a long and successful career as a physician at the James A. Quillen VA Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee.  Bob was passionate about serving veterans and also served in VA centers in Florida and Virginia. He and his wife Betty had lived in Guthrie for the last 14 years and Robert was employed at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City from where he retired. He attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Friday, June 17, 2022, at Rose Hill Burial Park, 6001 N.W. Grand Blvd., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with Chaplain Christian Bayles of Crossroads Hospice officiating. Services are under the of Hayes Funeral Home.
