Robert "Bob"
Dale Sukut
Dec 31, 1951 — Apr 3, 2026
Guthrie
Robert "Bob" Dale Sukut, 74, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away on April 3, 2026, leaving behind a life defined by quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and deep love for his family.
Born on December 31, 1951, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Harold and Mildred (Durr) Sukut, Bob grew into a man who valued hard work, loyalty, and doing what was right. Those qualities led him to serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1980. As a personnel specialist, he served with honor for nine years, earning numerous commendations that reflected not only his excellence, but his commitment to something greater than himself.
Bob continued building a life rooted in purpose. He attended Black Hills State University, earning his bachelor's degree in business, and on April 6, 1974, he married Connie Simon. Their marriage was one of steady devotion, built over decades of shared memories, quiet moments, and enduring love.
Bob spent more than 20 years working for the United States Postal Service, where he became known for his dependability and strong work ethic. He also served as the active president of the National Association of Letter Carriers, standing up for those around him with the same integrity he carried throughout his life. He retired in 2007, leaving behind a career marked by respect and dedication.
In 2019, Bob and Connie moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma, from Rapid City, South Dakota. He loved being outdoors, whether fishing or hunting, and he found comfort in reading and quiet time. He didn't need much, just the people he loved, a little fresh air, and a good book.
Survivors include his wife Connie; children: Quentin Sukut and wife Tara and Carlie Berger and husband Ryan; siblings: Duane Sukut, Bruce Sukut, Timothy Sukut and wife Tina, Karla Cook-Carter and husband Richard, and Cynthia Martin; grandchildren: Ina and husband Noah, Nova, Macie, Mason, and Maxton; and former daughter-in-law Rui Sukut. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Russell Buising, and brothers Harry and Randy Sukut.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital ( https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html) or to The American Cancer Society ( https://donate.cancer.org/?campaign=incentivehubdefaultmedia) in memory of Bob.
