Robert L. Stuart, age 85, passed away February 10, 2012, at his home in Edmond, Oklahoma, after his battle with leukemia for many years. He was born on October 15, 1926, in Stuebenville, Ohio.

He married Mary McIntosh on February 24, 1950 in Steubenville, Ohio. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and worked in the oilfield as a pumping unit repair specialist.
He was a former Mason and member of the V.F.W. Robert had previously lived in Cushing and Duncan.

Robert is survived by his wife Mary of the home, six children, Danny Stuart and wife Becky of Edmond; Hughie Stuart and wife Kathy of Newkirk; William Stuart and wife Mary of Missouri; Jessie deJong and husband Rudy of Edmond; Cathey Young and husband Brent of Dallas; Roberta James and husband Kenneth of Newcastle.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at the Newcastle United Methodist Church, 121 E. Fox Lane, Newcastle, OK, with Pastor Bret Thomasson officiating. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, Guthrie.
