Thomas "Thom" Alan Rayburn, 65, passed away on August 10, 2025 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He was born on December 23, 1959 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Burton Thomas Rayburn and Karen Sue Van Hooser.

Thom proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Diver. During his service, he was stationed aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt and spent three years in Sardinia, Italy, years he often spoke of with great fondness and pride. After his military service, Thom worked in construction and brought the same dedication and work ethic to his trade that he had to his time in uniform.

A true adventurer at heart, Thom loved the thrill of skiing, the challenge of mountain climbing, and the breathtaking beauty of the Colorado Rocky Mountains where he spent many happy years. In December 2024, he moved from Littleton, Colorado, to Guthrie to be closer to family, a decision that brought him comfort during his time of sickness.

He is survived by his mother, Karen Van Hooser; his brothers, Tim Rayburn, Jerry Rayburn, and Jeff Doctorman; and several extended family members and friends whose lives were brighter for having known him. He was preceded in death by his father, Burton Rayburn.

Thom will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his courage, and his deep love for the people and places that meant the most to him.

Thom's family will hold a memorial service at a later date to celebrate his life.
